I haven't used the auto hold at all, specifically because I was worried about something happening like your situation. I am really interested to see what the dealer says in this instance. I hope it was just a one off glitch.
I have had my Tig for 3 months now and enjoying it extremely. I love the ACC and the Auto Hold.
But the other day I stopped at the lights and the Auto Hold activated and took my foot off the break.
As normal the car did not move, but when the lights changed and I tries to take off the car would not move.
Engine rev'ed up but the break did not deactivate. I took the car out of gear and back in again, still no move.
Quick thinking I then looked and the Green P was still visible, so I started pushing the park and auto break until it deactivated.
Has anyone one else seen this, I will be reporting it to the dealer tomorrow.

I have been using the auto hold in my previous Tiguan (2010) and in my current one (2017) and did not have any issue like you.
Have you been standing on a steep slope? Upwards or downwards? Did you have the start/stop feature on or off?
From your story, it sounds like the electric hand brake has been activated instead of the auto hold so you had to push the button to release it.
Are you sure you did not touch the parking brake button accidentally while waiting at the lights?
I would definitely ask the service or try to read the manual about the auto hold feature, maybe we learn something new here.

It was flat ground, no hill. I had not played with the parking brake. But even if I had, the parking brake should also deactivate when the accelerator is pushed. ( just checked and manual also quotes this ). The stop/start feature was off, ( I don't normally call it a feature, but a pain in the but).
If it hasn't recorded a fault code (which I suspect it hasn't), you'll need VW service to be able to replicate the fault. I had similar thing where my cruise control would intermittently not work in my Scirocco and I had to take it to them in the "fault" state so they could observe it occurring. It's only then that they can actually start performing some warranty/rectification work.
If it happens the same every time it's relatively easy but if it's a once off/intermittent problem then it can get tricky

Returned from the dealer and they found nothing wrong. Oh well will just have to keep an eye on it.
Yeah problem is if they can't replicate it and there's no fault code it makes it tricky to diagnose.
If it does happen again and you can do it, get your passenger in the car to record it on their phone.
That is if you can't get it back past a dealer while it's faulting.

I have exactly same experience. I was using ACC and stopped at traffc light and I kicked accelation car didnt not move I feel like car was on N gear. But just before that motorbike passed through me heard crash beep. I changed gear to P then D again. Its been 3months and since that did not happen
