That’s exactly the type of proof I was looking for, saved me reading pages and pages of that thread. I knew I would flush one out 😃

Next thing is, does stuffing about with VCDS and/or OBDEleven void warranty also?

I've changed the way my Haldex works and disable the torque reduction lol.

I went to German Performance Garage this morning and met Stephen. What a delight when you meet someone who is so enthusiastic about their job! All set to get it tuned the day after the year 1 service

This is a good question. Can VW service centers know if you have done any VCDS changes ?

I’d say VW can see everything including when changing your mind lol

I've done all of the common VCDS tweaks, and the drivers screen looks different to a standard Tiguan so there's no denying it. I had the car in a month ago to replace the entertainment unit (it had the dreaded vertical lines), and the only comment I got from the service guy was that he liked the way it looked. Maybe they're more lenient if it doesn't involve the engine or drive train? Maybe it's the person who is looking after you...

I'm waiting for a wrecked Tiguan to come up OR for someone to sell me their stock dump/down pipe.

Will chop it right after the cat/cat sensor and weld up 3" piping to it all the way to the slip joiner and reduce it back to fit the stock cat back.

Will also do back to back dyno runs to see if this mod is worthwhile doing (have access to an AWD dyno). Hopefully can score a few solid kWs without any flashing needed.

Then once the warranty runs out, will flash it LOL

I’m glad to hear that, it confirms what others have also said! You might be tempted to go to stage 2 or beyond whilst you are there.....how about a downpipe, intake, Intercooler.....oh and a new turbo

Melbourne_Tiggy, that happened to be one of the most interesting parts of our conversation, he had a lovely new Stage 3 turbo upgrade in his display cabinet.
