Active Info Display: instrument cluster error

    Hi guys

This morning when starting my MY17 Tiguan 132 (fully loaded), I noticed an "Error" message where the odometer reading normally sits. Got my car at launch so almost a year old.

Also when checking vehicle status on the entertainment unit, there's a message "Error: Instrument Cluster. Workshop!"

    Anyone else got this?

A quick google suggests the entire display may need replacing, possibly due to dead pixel 😳

....and on my return trip home, the error has mysteriously disappeared, with the usual tripmeter appearing again 🙄

    How were the temperatures outside?
It's common for full touch displays at low temperatures to have some trouble starting up. My previous VW cars also had similar issues. And a dead pixel can not be detected by the display only by looking at the screen.

Temperatures were nothing unusual at this time of year in Sydney, neither too hot or cold.
