Hi again Tigger162, while I only have the roof lights mounted when I am planning on doing some long distance night driving, but while on, I have not noticed any wind noise or rattling.

Out of curiosity, I just weighed the rack and LED bar, and it comes in at just under 7kg, including the cabling.

Please note, that is not a typo, the weight is just 7kg

Fitting or removal takes about 3 minutes and unlike my Range Rover when the roof lights are fitted, going into an undercover carpark with the LED rack on the Tig is not a problem.

Cheers for that, glad to know there is no noticeable noise.

Im still thinking about some leds either a bar or round, but will place it behind the lower grill so it can't be seen.

Hi Tigger162, I actually hate the look of my roof mounted lights and this is why I have always set them up to be able to easily and quickly fit and remove them.

But almost every vehicle I have owned in the last 35 years was set up with easy fit and remove roof mounted lights.

While I don’t like the looks, I do like the huge safety benefit they give over bumper mounted lights and while I use to mount both, the bumper mounted lights were always permanent mounts, I have not fitted bumper mounted driving lights to any of my vehicles in the last 15 or so years.

The roof lights are just so much better, both on road and off.

Cool or not cool? Stick on R-Line 'style' trim from e-bay. About $40.

I think it looks cool but each to their own.

Has anyone get door sill protectors like this? I prefer the brushed aluminium look but considering my car is white I think the black would look better. It works out a little cheaper than getting PPF on the door sills.

Btw how do you embed images? And why are the eBay links coming up as access denied?

Also for those of you looking at stainless steel boot sill protectors, I found a few that look good. I bought one on eBay (Access Denied) that looks like this one: https://www.tuning-art.com/ladekante...-2016/a-10149/

Other ones that look good on their site include:

I just copied and pasted the image from e-bay. Maybe there are size restrictions.

I was considering stainless steel door and boot sill protectors but worry that cheap low grade steel might rust and stain the paint.
With kids and loading pushchairs into the boot, sill protection makes sense... I'm thinking about using clear or even matte black/grey vinyl. Not much of an expert in this and clean application would be an issue for me. VW offer this but waaaay too expensive.

The black stainless would look very smart on your white tiggy!... matching the black wheel arches and interior trim. Personal taste.
Would the finish be prone to silver scratches?
Perhaps a 'quality' plastic like the wheel arches would be more durable?
I haven't seen anything like that online yet...
