- If phone is either plugged in or connected via bluetooth, a single press of the button uses the BMW voice assistant, however a press and hold uses the Siri eyesfree. Hence not needing to have CarPlay turned on.

Wish there was a way for the same to work

even though I’ve had the car for over a month I continue to do this because I was so use to it in my old car

Agreed - its not as if you change the assists every hour. You set the assists and leave them set.

I reset DLA every time I drive my car because I mostly use it on freeway or open country roads. As soon as I get on a tight road or enter a metro area it goes off. I live in the bush, if I was driving solely in metro areas it would be off all the time unlike most who never leave the metro area. I don't even look at the dashboard when I do it as the button presses are just so easy to do.

I have begun to use voice recognition for phone calls, I have made two calls in the last few months and it worked both times which completely astounded me I must admit.
