It’s basically installing in-line fuses to the wiring of the sunroof lights. There might be more to it, but that’s the simplest way of putting it.

My car isn’t on the list anymore, even though I have a roof and have non-functional lights(from new) the dealer and vw can’t get them working from the car computer. They light up when externally powered.

There was already another thread about this, started in December. "Recent interior light recall"
My car has been fixed in early January. They installed a fuse and enabled the settings in the infotainment unit by uploading a new firmware.

Do we have confirmation on what’s being done in the recall? There is a mix of people that have had their sunroof led lighting just disabled and some say that a fuse is installed inline and their lights still work?

My car had the newest fix applied today during a seat warranty visit. Apparently it’s fixed it

Does your sunroof still have the illumination lights working?

Yes. It never had them functioning- from new. So it’s quite the milestone.

Only for the vehicles with the affected VIN list right?

My car is a few VIN numbers past where the list stops, so I assume lights sunroof lights were never connected/installed?

I just had the recall done today. I received the invoice ($0) for work carried out on service campaign 60C9 for background lighting of Panorama sunroof - replace wiring loom in sunroof. There's 2 x new wiring harnesses, 3 x pieces of foam, 2 x clamps and 2 x clips that has been installed.

The good thing my car was seriously dirty when it arrived (after driving 1500km this week including 100km on dirt) and the car came back all washed. I just close my eyes and hope they didn't use anything that would scratch up the paint...
