162 TSI - tinted windows or not?

My 162 TSI Highline is coming in a few weeks and I can't wait.

However, I can't work out if the rear windows are tinted or not?

The reviews says it does but IIRC, the demo didn't have tinted rear windows.

    Can anyone clarify?

Does it change things with R-Line and non R-Line?

Mine is still a week or two away also, but I believe all Highlines come with rear privacy glass. I don't think R-Line changes anything.

I certainly know I'm paying extra for the tint of the front windows. I was also told by the dealer that the factory privacy glass doesn't have any UV protection, so I am also having a clear UV film applied to these windows.

Our R-line came with rear privacy glass/boot glass as std, we just optioned front windows to be tinted to the same darkness at no extra charge (haggled no extra charge)

    The vehicle data sheet says:

    - WSS Windshield in heat-insulating glass
    - SSH Side windows in heat-insulating glass, from B-pillar and rear window dark tinted

Wouldn't be the first time dealers don't properly know the VW Tiguan 162kw R-line....

On my Jetta the rear windows were factory tinted quite dark so it looked stupid without the front windows tinted. I therefore tinted the front ones. I planned to do the same with the Tiguan, but the rear windows really don't seem that much darker than the front, and to be honest, I like the amount of light coming into the cabin at the moment so I don't think I'll bother with the front tint.

    For reference:

You can see that the front window is a bit lighter, but it doesn't instantly stand out as looking odd.

I just checked the Aussie VW Tiguan brochure and apparently:-

"Dark tinted rear side window and rear window glass, 65% light absorbing" = 162 TSI Highline and 140 TDI Highline regardless of R-Line pack or not.
