    1000km dealer service/check

I purchased my vehicle from a non local dealer, they advised i needed to get a 1000km check done on the car. I just called a local dealer who informed me they don't perform that check and that it's not a warranty service just something additional offered by the dealer, so i can just wait till 15,000km.

just want to confirm this is right, i'd hate to void my warranty on not following the servicing schedule..

    It's complementary.

But, it's a good opportunity to clarify any functions and features of the car, and have any concerns you might have, looked into.

    The 1000KM “service” is optional.

It’s not really a service anyway. They don’t change the oil or anything. I think it’s just more of a general checkover and probably plug into the computer to check for fault codes.

I was in the same boat and gave it the flick. it is only kick the tyres and make you feel good sort of thing and nothing fell off before the first service.

    1000km dealer service/check

It’s called introducing the customer to the service department. It’s also an opportunity to get anything fixed that was overlooked in pre-delivery.

I highly doubt it. I could be wrong but I don't even believe they plug the car in during normal logbook services unless you complain about something.

It's part of the service procedure these days to do a scan.

I doubt they'd do it for the complimentary inspection though.
