Would a May 22’ Passat have DAB+?

Hi all

I’ve just bought a 206tsi R line Passat. It’s a brand new unregistered vehicle built in May 2022. I bought it specifically because this build date was before the semiconductor shortage necessitated the removal of Side assist, rear traffic and proactive occupant safety.

My question however is: Do the cars built before the batch that suffered removal of these features come with DAB+ radio? I know I will find out when I get the car, but that’s a couple of weeks away and I wouldn’t mind making arrangements for a retrofit if it’s at all possible!

Contact your dealer and get the VIN for that vehicle. With that information request your dealer look up the PR codes to confirm if DAB is included.
If I recall correctly all passenger vehicles from VW are fitted with DAB for 2022 year models onwards for the Australian market.
The semiconductor issue does not affect the radios for our vehicles, different story in Europe where 1000's are sitting around awaiting for radios to be fitted post production.

I've just collected a June build (just before the semi conductor equipment being cut) and it does have the DAB+ radio so I suspect yours will too 👍
