It probably tells you in that seldom read book in your glovebox that there is a service position that you turn ign off while wipers are moving to allow you to do that.
It certainly does in both of mine
Hi All,
I'm going to ask a stupid question. How do you change the windscreen wiper blades on the B8 Passat?
When I try to lift the Wiper arm, the bonnet gets in the way.
Any help would be great, as I'm sure there is a simple solution.
Thanks

Once you have switched off the ignition, flick the wiper stalk for a single sweep. The wipers will stop in the "service" position.
Cheers
In mk5 Jetta, pulling wiper stalk down immediately after turning off ignition places blades in service position. May be different, but worth a try.
