    vw badge plastic cover removal

    Hey Guys,

I'm a new kid around here and may have a silly question but I'm struggling to find out if it's possible to remove the plastic cover over the front VW emblem on a 2018 Passat Alltrack?

    any info would be amazing!

    Cheers

vw badge plastic cover removal the ACC sensor is behind your plastic badge man.

You remove it you are in risk of damage your ACC.

And the new badge is just a plastic flat thing.

The ACC sensor is mounted seperate from the grill. You need to remove your grill (screws at top and then it clips out) then the badge clips off from behind. I only know this because a Kangaroo removed mine and it's the only bit that clipped back on after I recovered it (pitty the rest of the front end was busted).

The badge is made of a material that allows the ACC to penetrate it without interference. So it's probably got no metal in it and is also probably coated in something. If you're putting something aftermarket on then you might have an issue.

This sounds to me like someone wants the VW badge blacked out... There is no cover over the badge, it's just a flat cover with the VW badge painted in a way that makes it LOOK like it's 3D.

Do NOT do it! Not if you want your ACC to keep working!

Yes and dont break it as I got mine scratched on a B7 and VW wanted $368 for just the cover assembly and if you dismantle it you need to recalibrate your ACC radar again which is about anothe $300.
Had to get my camera in screen binnacle recalibrated when getting new screen and thats about the cost
