Superpro 24mm rear sway bar and Moog endlinks install

Finally got around to installing a Superpro 24mm solid rear sway bar and Moog endlinks that I recently bought.


I gave the Moogs a hit with black caliper paint as they appear to be some kind of treated metal rather than a painted finish and they can apparently rust over time. I also gave them a full dose of grease via the integrated grease nipples. Always a novelty to bust out the grease gun on a modern car!


All up it took about 2 hrs go to whoa on ramps at a leisurely pace. Importantly, there was no need to lower the exhaust or jack up the control arms for clearance to the RSB mount bolts, plus having the car on the ramps meant it was easy to torque everything up under load.


The fiddliest part was tightening the Moog endlink bolts at the RSB end. Otherwise, the job was quite straight-forward.


Honourable mention to the short IKEA Allen key that saved my bacon due to limited clearance between the factory endlinks and springs!

Very, very impressed with how the car feels afterwards. Handling is much more neutral overall. Less understeery, even during normal everyday driving through corners and roundabouts etc. I've yet to really push it through faster corners.

No change to overall ride quality.

Looking at doing the same for my 2021 rline wagon. Where did you get the sway bar from as I'm struggling to find ones for the passat wagons. Do golf 4motion ones fit?

And any particular reason to go for the brand of bar and end links that you did?

The part number that I installed is the Superpro RC0052RZ-24 which is the Golf R 24mm adjustable sway bar.

I chose this sway bar on the basis of multiple good reports both on this forum and various VW/Passat/Skoda facebook groups.

I went for the Moogs due to the fact that they are serviceable/greaseable via the integrated grease nipple, and there are good reports about their longevity vs other aftermarket links.

I forgot to add the details for the endlinks. Two are required:

The swaybar itself can be had for about $250 delivered from sparesbox via ebay with the current discount code

This equates to about $320 for the lot including the Moog links from Amazon.

I should note that the Moogs DO require an initial fill of grease before installation, so if you don't have a grease gun, then you factor that into the purchase price. When you add this on top of the need to paint the Moogs to prevent rust, this might put some people off.

The other option is to go for the entire Superpro swaybar and link kit which is currently about $370 with the ebay discount code from Sparesbox. No greasing and painting required.

You are a legend! I was just about to pull the pin on that exact kit and was on here to ask if you got fresh bolts for the links to control arm (my car only on 40k kms)... then saw your discount code.
