New Passat 206TSI R-Line

It definitely won't be a comfortline bumper. They're so basic they're open where the exhaust is.

I reckon it's a diesel "R-Line pack" bumper instead of a the petrol version. Simple mistake.

If you have a petrol Passat it should have the petrol R-Line bumper.

Only the 206 got pipes out bumpers.

All the other R lines are the same covered fake ones.

OK cool. So there's the R-Line bumper with cut outs, and the R-Line pack bumper with no cut outs.

That means it's actually a Comfortline with R-Line pack and Luxury Pack, or an R-Line with the wrong bumper.

There’s a wrong bumper on his car.

It’s either from the factory in Germany or more likely someone repaired the car and put on a wrong bumper.

Or there's a wrong car attached to his bumper! lol I would hate to think someone was sold a 132TSI with R-Line and Lux pack as simply an "R-Line".

Thanks everyone. Dealership now agrees that my car most likely has the correct exhaust, incorrect bumper and incorrect VIN specs, now waiting for Volkswagon to confirm before repairs are made.

Though mine has twin tips on each side and from the carsales picture, that one does too.

If what I drove wasn't a 206TSI, then I can't imagine the carnage you'd get up to in a real one. It's really quick.

Car is brand new, so most likely from factory.

OK cool. So there's the R-Line bumper with cut outs, and the R-Line pack bumper with no cut outs.

tis a similar story with Superb 206 Sportline
the 206 TSi Sportline has twin straight through exhausts and gets "real exhaust" tips
while the 162 TSi Sportline has twin downward facing exhaust and "fake exhaust" tips with no cut out.
