Probably not bad then if you can get some free accessories thrown in (not sure they can ever move much price wise on those drive away deals?)

Is there a facelift due in MY19?

A quick google tells me it is likely a facelift with more tech and and all-glass instrumentation.

Wouldn’t mind too much if it looked like this

    Ceramic Pads

do they use the same pads and brake set up as the mk 7 golf R ?

family member might be considering buying one of these rocket ships after we compared it to my golf r and found it pretty similar just in a bigger format and less exhaust note.. bit more driveable for day to day and carrying things but god damn fast for an affordable wagon.

Get ATE ceramic pdf same as Golf R. No dust, less rotor wear last 3x longer. Rotors are very expensive so these pads save a lot of $$$$

    Front: P/N 351007028C $175
    Rear: P/N 351007010C $121

What is the ball weight on your van and what was the Commodores allowable weight. Or did you just hook up and go and not worry.

Consider an APR Stage 1 tune. Heaps more torque should be good for towing.

I purchased mine a couple of weeks ago - got a killer deal. 55k drive away and fully optioned (i.e. paint and the sunroof). MY 17 of course. I enquired about the main difference with the MY18 from my dealer and the answer was the new fascia on the sat nav - to match whats in the new Golf and Arteon, but the functionality is almost identical. You get gesture control and some other minor things. I prefer the old system with the 2 knobs. Still a 6 speed DSG though which unlike Arteon and even some bloody lower spec Golfs which have the 7 speed.

Was your deal on a new "zero km" vehicle or a demo?
    Cheers

Didn't have to really haggle - it was corporate discount via my lease company.

Brand new - I think it has 20km on it which they all do for testing.
