hey guys. does any one have info about brakes for this 206tsi?

do they use the same pads and brake set up as the mk 7 golf R ?

family member might be considering buying one of these rocket ships after we compared it to my golf r and found it pretty similar just in a bigger format and less exhaust note.. bit more driveable for day to day and carrying things but god damn fast for an affordable wagon.

you should look into the JB4 unit thats available for golf R . its a piggy back that increases boost but doesnt flash the software just inputs different data while the box is plugged in. has good reviews for not being detected when unplugged for warranty purpose and is pretty much what it was designed to do.

I test drove an Rline Wagon today. After about 15 years in Commodore's the jig is up! I must say I was very impressed. The performance, the features and the styling all ticked boxes for me.

I do occasionally tow a caravan, it's about 1900kg's the Commodore towed it with ease. The specs say 2200Kgs is possible, but the only question the sales rep couldn't answer for me was how it would 'really' tow the caravan. So... does anyone have any experience in using the Rline to tow a reasonable size van/boat etc? I've previously prioritised the 98% of driving I do over the 2% I do when towing the van, but I do need to be comfortable that it will be up the job. I'd really appreciate any feedback. Cheers

Your biggest problem will be the very light ballweight limit. Usually about 90Kg on a Passat and far to light for a 2000kg van, unless its a Euro type van

What is the ball weight on your van and what was the Commodores allowable weight. Or did you just hook up and go and not worry.

Thanks for that. I did wonder about the ball weight limit and I was struggling to find any info on it.

The commodore ball weight limit is 210kgs and the van is about 150kgs so isn't a problem.

The limit for the Passat is in the manual and most of them including mine are 90kg so virtually useless for towing an Aussie van and only good for a Bailey or a York or similar, Maybe a Jurgens If you download the Brochure from VW it is listed in there as 90kg for ALL model Passats
