    LPFP & Injectors HELP

Hoping someone on the forum may be able to help:

Car was given final tune last night. The TTE470 was fitted 4 weeks ago but we had a fuelling issue. I bought an autotec HPFP that we thought would solve this. It did make a little difference but running out of fuel near the top end (making excellent mid-range); we speculate that it could be either the injectors or the LPFP.

Being a Passat, the ECU operating system is different to the golf. We also speculate that VW (bless them) may for example put a different LPFP on the Passat to a Golf R. For example, although the same engine, they may put Jetta injectors and a LPFP on.
I am going to find the parts and specs of the OEM injectors and LPFP.

The reason I am looking for help is:

Does anyone have knowledge of a Passat B8 injectors, what cc they are?
Anyone know if the LPFP the same as the golf? What alternatives would anyone suggest - a TTRS?
Im also looking at the Bosch 980cc injectors as a staring point. But would rather find out what my current ones are.

    Any help gratefully received.

If any Admins thing i should post this anywhere else on the forum, please let em know

    Cheers in advance

You could try reaching out to HPA in Germany. Ask them what they did and if they have a solution. They build a 520HP Arteon and a wagon as well.

It also wouldn't surprise me if the LPFP is a little different in the Passat given that the fuel line is longer and the tank setup is different. Or... perhaps it's the same and the way the tank/lines might be your issue.

I've reached out to a few people, i will try them too. All roads seem to lpfp. Looking at the CTS or the precision raceworks one.

Interesting point about the fuel line being longer, so thanks for that. Im trying to figure out the passats stock injectors capacity......cant find it anywhere.

Can't help with the injector spec, but my advice would be to pull them out and have them measured. Any good injection shop should be able to give you a report, and will probably be able to give you the spec or cross-reference them to a known part.

I'd hit this guy up. It's not a Passat but the Skoda which is identical, having said that, the Passat should really be identical to the Golf R. Really interested to see what the outcome is as I may look to push mine in the future. Skoda Superb III 4x4 280 - A sleeper’s journey – 280ps to 560ps - Superb Projects - BRISKODA

Easy to do if you have parts link or someone with access to it.

rego/vin of a Golf R and your Passat. Check the injector and fuel pump parts numbers.

We have tuned lots of stage 3 MQB cars in Melbourne. Even with the snail 480 we haven't had to play with fuel pumps and injectors on Rs or GTIs.

    Whats the Passat engine code?

EDIT, might have spare R injectors down here if they do turn out to different. Just PM if you need some

    Issue 1:
Car was given final tune last week. The TTE470 was fitted 4 weeks ago but we had a fuelling issue. I bought an autotec HPFP that we thought would solve this. The car made good power with a decent power curve, mid range was great. But see the low pressure fuel drop below

The car was still tuned fine, but we know there is more left in it. This was my LPFP issue and question. The plot then thickens:

    Issue 2:
I went the drags on Wednesday it was quiet, so I got 10 runs in. The best the car did was a 12.7……..now its done a 12.1 at stage 2 plus.

My tuner and I agreed that some wasn’t right. He came over last night and rans some logs. The car is over boosting and cutting throttle now. Essentially like nothing when it left the dyno 2 weeks ago. He is going to analise the data and consult his colleagues.

Its difficult to speculation what the issue would be. Is it the ECU. Do we have a boost leaks.

This as well as the fueling issue when it was running well on the dyno.

We are going to look at a process of elimination. But if you guys have any ideas, im all ears. I really appreciate any thoughts or input. In my signature is a list of my hardware. My engine code is CJXA

Please feel free to ask may any questions or private message me. Appreciate any suggestions or input.
