So does anyone have a definitive answer on whether the AU Passat has all the right hardware for full DLA?

We believe zzc2010 has it fully enabled with the DLA parameter set for the headlight controller installed.

I have a UK golf 7 facelift with DLA from the factory (central electronics is adaptions only no long coding) and OBDeleven, do you need me to look at anything?

zzc2010. So from your car, do you believe you have all the right gear, or is it a hybrid approach that is mimicking DLA? I successfully enabled it on my car and it appeared to do all the right stuff, but I did get flashed a few times so I was concerned it wasn't using rollers and instead just moving the AFS around a bit.

    Coding only does the appearance.

It seems to work but the parameters are not right. That’s why you got flashed. In my test driving, the high beam shade (the U) was way too close to the cars nearby. They are not right and blinding others for sure. I told a lot of forum members it is very dangerous. Do not do the coding only.

If you have some knowledges of robotics you should understand why parameters are so important.

I have no answers whether mine is mimicking or not because there is no DLA officially in AUS excepting Arteon.

All we did were just taking the risk and trying the new stuffs.

I can not give you any conclusive answers really.

From my observing of activating all the functions after productions from VAG, a VCP could be the right tool.

Yeah, I wasn't certain it was right either and did notice that the cutout was way too close to other objects so I reverted all my settings. The last thing I want to do is blind someone and make them have an accident.

    You did the right thing!

    Have fun investigating.

    Cheers

So if the LED headlights we have are capable of something, why isn't it enabled? That doesn't make much sense. Even the basics of auto-dipping high beams. I have a 2012 Jeep that does that! (albeit not perfect)

Then you will have a Audi with VW pricetag. More on marketing. VW is competing with Toyota or so in AUS.

I notice that Dynamic Light Assist is standard on the Arteon and included with the driver assistance package on some Golfs.
