I couldn't code Byte 2 Hex 0E, but did the rest.

Dynamic Light Assist came up in the centre console as an option, ticked, ran basic settings and acknowledge basic settings.

Tested, when I flick the left stork forward for high beam, a white icon comes up in AID like the one in on the DLA website, High Beams are not on. Lights are on Main Beam. In testing, lights were normal until no cars were coming toward me, then the light increased a little bit. There is no difference in light when in normal or with 1 flick forward of the stork.

A second flick forward of the left stork puts on the actual High Beam, with the little blue high beam icon. High beams are now on.

A flick back of the high beam stork, puts lights back to normal.

    Is the HBA, or DLA?

I think the clearest indication would be coming up behind a car - did you see a darker section in the middle protecting the car in front from being dazzled?
Hopefully Wynnston can give a better description than me as he actually owns a B8 Dynamic Light Assist

If so then you need to run basic settings on address 55 headlight range, and then run acknowledge basic settings.
I haven't done this with obd11 so you'll have to check if these two are available. They are 2 seperate routines. Both need to be run to success (a few seconds each only)

So, I don't have the startup sequence of the DLA system but can confirm it is working because it manages the beam when oncoming traffic approaches instead of just turning off like HBA. I'd love to work it out to get the DLA presentation working because it looks so much cooler.

There are two sets of instructions on that page. I followed the instructions for => 2017 models, but I did not have 4B so I followed the instructions on coding the 55 module from the < 2017 version, I didn't have Byte 4 bit 6 as a tickbox so I manually modified the code (byte 4 is now 4F Added a 1 to position 2 in the binary (is bit 6), I then also ran basic settings and then the apply basic settings. I had "Light Assist" errors come up in the MFD before that, now no errors.

DR074 probably has his working just like mine and we may have confused eachother because the startup sequence didn't change.

I think you are right Wynnston, I may be confused. The description on the DLA website sounds right, but could be mistaken.

My testing may be skewed, as its daytime, I had to close the garage door. This may not be the best test, as I think the camera picks up the garage door. I will do more testing tonight, coming up behind a car, etc, and see what that does.

It wont work under 58 KPH and I dont think either of us have the fancy startup sequence. Here is a good example in this youtube video of how DLA would behave, the fog does exaggerate it a bit.

ahhhh, that video makes sense. That looks cool. I don't think mine does that, but will check tonight and report back. I'm short odds on not.

A less dramatic video (without the fog)

Fog might be the key to the test, we get a bit of fog in Canberra. First time I have ever wished for fog.

My only concern is that DLA works two ways. It uses a roller to carve the beam and shutters when it needs to be more dramatic. I'm hoping that our headlights have both, otherwise it might think its rolling the beam aside when it's not, therefore potentially blinding people. Until I work this out I will only use it like normal high beam and only get the benefit from not being blinded by large traffic signs with high beam on, but dip it whenever I see a car.

No fog last night, more testing required.
When I turned on "DLA" (via the menu) and push forward on the stork, white icon appears. When there are no cars or lights (completely dark and over 60kph), I noticed that it automatically brightened the headlights. The blue high beam icon appeared. never noticed that before. So I assume is HBA.

When I came up on another car, oncoming, the lights went back to normal, and high beam icon disappeared. Some thing else funny happened, the lights lowered a little bit. When I came up on other cars from behind, it seemed to do the exact same thing.

I didn't notice the lights do exactly what was in the video by Wynnston, just seemed to lower them a bit.

I think it does what it needs to in different situations. I'll report back if it does any different.
