Might be the Arteon then but as the Traffic sign recognition is a bit flaky I agree with you.

The other day coming through the roadworks on the Bruce north of Caloundra the icon changed speeds a couple of times when the signs gave a constant 80. At one point was 40 showing, which makes me wonder if the GPS has something to do with it

my TSR is setup to only read speed signs detected by the camera. i.e. not fusion mode.
so the only speed signs it shows on the infotainment or centre cluster r the ones it sees on the road.

Fusion mode uses both GPS map data and the camera.

the RoW map data does not seem to have the necessary data for fusion mode to work properly. at least is the case with the Columbus infotainment unit in Skoda.
hence my TSR is coded/set to "Road Sign Detection" mode.

However, given the Arteon uses the same RoW maps, and they have no issues - maybe the required data does exist in it. I may need to play around elsewhere with the "predictive" settings, that will then make Fusion mode happy. don't know.

Truth b told, i reckon this is a SwaP-controlled feature, controlled by VAG, requiring an activation code for a particular car.

Arteons still has a ding and error when startup after activating the TSR.

I remember I saw it in the CC forum.

Mine picks up any speed signs it sees, slip road exit speed signs, etc.

So does mine its the ones that ARENT there that are a bother, as in cruising through 80k roadworks and all of a sudden it says 40k and alarm goes off

You can turn off the alarm in your settings.

The car should decrease the speed from 80 to 40 if yours is working when using ACC.

Yours probably is not.
