Old navman: I'm guessing - but the DTC on the hex08 module in your SCAN-report suggests (to me at least) that it's attempting to undertake a function that is incompatible with the factory installed equipment in the car. My hunch is that the problematic function involves talking to the CAN Gateway - hence the hex19 module DTC

Again guessing, but if this was my car, I would check that the settings on the long-code string and the values in the adaptation channel database in the new module aligns with those of the old module.

You can probably get a copy of the long-code settings for the old module from an old SCAN - these will be stored on your laptop in the C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Scans sub-directory. To get the values for the adaptation channels on the old module, you would have needed to create an ADMAP before you swapped modules (hopefully this was done - there are about 40 x channels in this module)!

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.

    Thanks Don,

Yes, I've saved the 'old scans' so I could get the original module coding. Reading similar (Climatronic related) posts though it seemed it would be a straight forward swap but that's obviously not the case. No, unfortunately I did not create an ADMAP. I'm guessing I could put the old Climatronic back, delete all DTC's and do the ADMAP then? But I've never done one so this could be a bit of a challenge But if this (ADMAP) can not be created at this point in time then how do I proceed from here. Perhaps there is a post on 'how to' somewhere.

The missing message is from BCM. You have CECM (Bordnetz).
It can be safely ignored and has nothing to do with climatronics performance.

Unfortunately, though the 'problem' with the B7 unit persists and with A/C on I just cannot get air to come out through the center vents. Mind you I can hear the cold air being blown out somewhere - I think it only comes out through the windscreen vents. So ATM I can only get the fresh air blown through those (centre) vents.

Does air come out of those vents when you do that "flap adaptation"?

I will check the coding on my module tonight, but I think there were options to change the climate "region" and if the vehicle has passive ventilation or not.

Now ... from memory when I did the adaptation it might have momentarily work. I can't be sure as some time have passed since I've done it. As well I've been trying to fix my 'faulty fuel gauge' which is probably as, if not more, annoying than this.

If you can get me a 'different code' I'll sure check it out.

Try this coding 0600002002; this sets the vehicle type to B7 instead of CAN dependant and the climate to "more air"

Is this where I should try inputting the new code?

Yes that is the coding you want to update, check out Ross-Tech's guide on coding here Ross-Tech: VCDS Tour - Recode

You can always set the code back to 0000001002 if it does not work as expected.

Thanks, I'm likely to have a go at the weekend but it's a weather dependent proposition as unfortunately no garage here.
