Split rear washer hose in tailgate wiring harness??... And a fuse problem
Hi All,
Had my 2013 Alltrack serviced the other day. Dealer found a water in the rear 12 volt socket and reckon their is a split rear washer hose in the Tailgate (right hand hinge). Apparently the hose is part of the wiring harness and the whole thing will need to be replaced. Car is out of warranty but dealer says VW will help out with 60% of the parts cost. Anybody had the same experience and done a diy fix. The only reason I am asking is the quote (with VW parts discount) was still well north of $500. At the moment I am not using the rear washer so no more moisture in the socket.
Alos having a problem with my trailer and blowing fuses in the car. I have a dealer fitted tow bar and wiring so all the electrics are fine. Right from the start I would get a bulb warning light but all the bulbs (Not LEDS) were fine so I ignored it. About three weeks ago I had the trailer on , got a bulb warning light and then lots of messages and then blew both trailer control module fuses. The trailer works fine on two other cars (neither have fancy electronics) but now has blown the fuses again on my car. Not too sure how to check my car other than plug in another trailer and see what happens. No obvious faults on my trailer. Anybody got any suggestions.
Thanks in advance
David
