    R36 Underbody Protection Panels options?

During a recent trip to the snowfields, snow entered under the side panel behind the engine and filled to so much that it tore off it's mounting bolts. I think this may have been as a result if the engine under-tray panel being damaged by a stick previously which allowed the ingress of the snow.

In any case, it looks like I might need to replace both panels.

I have seen far less expensive replacement panels available in the USA on EBay, at least for the front engine panel.

Does anyone know of an Australian vendor of lower cost or non genuine underbody panels for the Passat?

Get one off a diesel, it goes all the way back to the subframe.

You'll need a handful of extra bolts and screws though.

As for where you get from, the dealer is your best bet. At least you won't be paying shipping

I'm running a slightly modified (a couple of redrilled mounting holes) aluminium ecs one for an R32.

its great and has the added benefit of providing much better undercarriage protection than the stock plastic on.
