Hi all,
It appear I have some kind fuel sending unit fault with my R36 and basically the fuel gauge would sitting at empty most of the time or just work for a moment briefly! I have also asked them how much will it cost me to have two new one install and the price I'm getting are silly exxy! So they rekon 500 bucks for one and I need two. So a grand just for parts is crazy! I started Googling around and come across this!

Am I look at the right part? Or could any one suggest any other reputable place could provide the part for a reasonable price?
Thanks all.
They are different from eachother.
Is there a way I can find out the exact part number?
3C0919673B for the left side.
3C0919673A for the right side.
Nice!! Thanks you so much.
Another silly question, the whole unit include the pump? What is the pump for? Or is it just easier to replace the whole thing?
Cheers
Left side includes a suction pump.
Right side is just the sender only.
Why do you need both? Surely only one has failed. Someone asked this on the R Club on Facebook recently and I said this happened on my previous car (Mitsubishi Verada) and it was $200 to buy part and install. Someone else said they had it done on their R36 and it was something like $300 or $400, don't remember exactly what he said but I remember thinking it wasn't considerably more than what the Mitsi cost, which is unusual as usually the R36 is bull**** expensive for anything.
I guess from I gathered from both VW dealer and one other place. You won't be able to know which one is faulty till you take the back seat off and test each one out which is like an hour worth of work then seems to be reasonable just to replace two. and one guy from VW work shop did say that they tend to go out in pairs and he worked on only replace one then soon after the other one is gone well if any one can suggest one place can do it for a reasonable price. Like say 300-400 I can actually deal with it. It's that 1 G figure I got told is too much
