    R36 engine swap coding required?

    G’day all,
If I were to replace engines in my r36 will it require to be coded or will it be a direct plug and play? Thanks james

If you keep your ECU then you can swap a like for like engine.
Note that up to MY09 the engine is EU4, and from MY10 on it is EU5 so the ECU software and engine emissions controls components are different.
So you need to get an engine of the same vintage as your one.
If you were to swap the engine complete with ECU then you need to deal with the immobilizer (either defeat or match).
