I took it to the VW dealer who does all of my servicing and the head of their service department test drove it. I had a call back later that day saying there was definitely a problem with the DSG. The car was well and truly out of warranty despite teh fact that it only had 32K on the odometer. A few days later they informed me that the transmission would be replaced at no cost to me, which to their credit it subsequently was. Note I am the first owner, I drive like a bank manager and I am meticulous in its maintenance. The car has a full VW service history. I must admit that having had this experience and then this week hearing all the media reports about DSG problems, I'm now somehwat nervous about the car.
