    R36 digital radio adapter

Hi Guys, i thought i remembered reading somewhere that there was a digital radio adapter made for the R36.

Just wondering if someone can confirm this to be the case or not.

Also, if it can be done, has anyone dine it?? How hard was it? What was involved etc??

    Kind regards

    Darren

    Hey mate

I've never heard of a digital radio adapter but Kamold is selling a DAB RNS510.

    Here is the link:

This has a digital tuner built in.

There's the Dension dab unit however you need the factory MDI as it requires a USB port. Firmware also needs to be updated on the MDI which can be done with a USB stick.

I used this and it works fine however it buffers stations for 10-15 sec, so if you switch stations there's 10-15sec of silence then it plays, you also won't see the artwork and text that comes across the dab stations. You can switch stations from the RNS as the dension unit presents each dab station as a individual MP3 file named the station name.

    I later upgraded to a DAB RNS510.

I've got the dension dab unit kicking around still if you wanted to give it a try but the original dab rns is much nicer
