It's normal.
They all do it. It's just the temperature flap adjusting. If you look up how to do a Basic Setting on it, it should improve in the short term.
I haven't been able to work out exactly what area it is coming from yet but I have a clicking or ticking sound coming from around the lower dash vicinity. It happens a minute or two after start up and will be four or five clicks at a time. It sounds like a plastic sound to me, sort of like there is a stick stuck under one of the distribution flaps to send air to a certain location. It only tends to happen on occasion in the first five minutes of driving for the day.
When the fans and ac are off I don't get any sound. Waiting for a new pollen filter to arrive and have a bit more of a poke around then. Anyone had a similar issue?

Thanks heaps! I will see how the HVAC reset goes. Cheers
We are having the same issue on ours. A bit annoying. How did you go mercury260? Any luck
It improved marginally but you can definitely hear it. I find it a bit odd that it can't be fixed as I would have been surprised if they rolled off the showroom like that. It's starting to just become background noise now that I have owned the car for longer

Both my old Skoda RS (mk 2) and my current Mk5 Golf GTI made/make and intermittent clicking/ticking noise from the centre console
I just tune out to it - I think it's normal

Some cars have these noises, some are louder then others. Try and work out if it's normal operation or not.
I have removed some vents and lubricated them and that's made a slight difference

Now that I am setup with an obdeleven I have a fault of a static air flow flap meter. I am guessing this isn't the cause from the reading i have done but when I eventually pull everything apart to fix it I will silicone spray what I can and see how it goes.
