You can change the coding in them to change the weighting to the same as an R36.
Feels a little heavier, but more direct.
Has anyone heard of someone here or overseas changing the steering rack in a B6 Passat for one that is quicker and provides more direct steering? It would be nice if the rack from an Audi B7 RS4 would fit.
Not sure if the steering control module is part of the rack, but it would need to communicate with the rest of the car's CAN system.

Thanks Umai. A heavier weighting might be nice. Do you know what the coding needs to be changed to?
However what I really want is to change the mechanical gearing to have less turns of the steering wheel lock-to-lock - so a given steering input has a greater impact on the angle the front wheels turn.
As I see it, there are 2 issues: (1) finding a rack in the VAG world that will physically fit and (2) having the electric steering communicate with the rest of the car. If anyone has heard or read of anything, please let me know.
