Poss 2008 Volkswagen Passat TDI Type 3C Auto MY08 purchase questions?

We have a Tig 103 TDI with 7spd DSG and are now looking at getting another addition to the stable.

We are looking at the above which I think is the B6 version?
I have read about problems with starting the B6 and it seems to be battery related. The car we are looking at has 130,000 km and has a few scratches etc.

How do I tell if the 6spd DSG gearbox has issues in the B6? Does it clunk, bang, hold onto the gears or not change gear correctly? The seller says it needs a few repairs prior to rego, but does not say what they are.
I will check to see whether the timing belt, water pump and brakes have been performed at the recommended service intervals.
    Anything else obvious to check?
    Dave.

Usually, 6 ssd dsg on tdi do not have any issue. I had mine with over 210 k and never had issue with transmission. someone correct me if I wrong but only 7 spd dry had issues which been fixed. Check service book. Timing belt must have change around 105k including water pump.

I have the same model, only issue I have had is I needed to go in for the replacement injectors as per recall so make sure that is done. Have changed radiator phlange (after having timing belt changed and waterbody changed had been pointed out at next service there is a small crack there. Other than that, just regular maintainence and you should be fine.

The 6 speed DSG works the same as the 7 speed, if a bit more smoother but that is subjective, so if you hear any clunks stay away or ask for price reduction. work for rego usually means tyres etc, but could be DPF. If you have a OBDII scanner, you can use VAG DPF free to see the status.

PS how much are you gettin it for I wouldnt mind getting an idea of the car's value.

Lift pumps in tank can be issue if having starting issues, injector recall in 2013 and should show tag that it has been completed on the door pillar on drivers side, for the most part if regularly serviced pretty reliable, air cons were problem as well I understand.
