    Passat B7 V6 Modifications

    Hi,

I was wondering what are the most popular performance modifications for the V6?

I would like to hear more of that glorious V6 sound, maybe exhaust and intake?

Has anyone lowered their Passat yet and what are their thoughts?

I'm thinking about the below basic mods:

    Brakes:

    Volkswagen Passat B7 V6 > ES#2581916 EBC GreenStuff Brake Pad Kit - DP21517KT

    Volkswagen Passat B7 V6 > Braking > Rotors > ES#2167540 Cross Drilled & Slotted Brake Rotors - Pair (312x25) - 1K0301AAXSGMTLRA

    Interior LED kit:

    Volkswagen Passat B7 V6 > Lighting > Interior > ES#2575893 Master LED Interior Lighting Kit - PSB7INTLEDKT1

    Suspension:

    Volkswagen Passat B7 V6 > Suspension > Springs > ES#2515469 Sport Spring Set - 54763-2

    Hi PI27OL,

We have previously discussed upgrades or removal of parts from the exhaust system that would release a better soundtrack though right now I do not have time to search. Have a look through the forum.

We have also previously discussed changes (lowering) to the B7 V6 susp & from memory in general there was a thought that any changes could effect the V6's Adaptive susp setup. Again, have a look through the forum for that discussion or maybe someone else can locate these relevent discussions....

The brake & interior lights upgrades do look good though & seem to be reasonably priced...

I agree about suspension changes and possibly affecting adaptive chassis control.

I wouldn't mind a more meaty sound from the v6, something along the times of r36..

Thanks guys. Yeah I thought as much about the suspension messing with the ACC.. I'll have a look around the forum for some other ideas.. I was hoping someone had a link to a German performance house that had gear for the Passat.. Thanks again.

im probably going to stay away from performance mods, not much to do on a v6 without dropping a hairdryer/blower onto it.

mods will mainly consist of options not available here like DLA, Golf R Steering Wheel, Premium MFD

I think you are right Sloth. I have an R36 and i think the front rotors are 345mm?

PI27OL - you should definitely do the exhaust - I am hoping to do a cat-back on mine early next year as I think the R36 is not loud enough!!

Just thought I'd add some info to this old thread.
My 2011 Passat 3C B7 V6 3.6L FSI (220KW) Highline Variant (Wagon) with engine code BWS has an option listing for 1LA, which appears to specify the brakes.

I confirmed (with my local dealer) that the front disc is 340mm * 30mm.
    The rear disc is a 310mm * 22mm.

Prices I was quoted were for OEM from VW:
    • Front disc: $565 pair
    • Front pads: $217 pair
    • Rear disc: $289 pair
    • Rear pads: $144 pair

I then spoke to a technician at DBA. Initially they had some problems finding the 340mm specification. But after some hunting they found the 1LA code matched the 340mm front disc.
The DBA part number for this is 2830.
The 4000 series T3 slotted is thus DBA42830S, the 4000 series plain is DBA42830.

The DBA website has apparently been updated with these now.
