Passat B7 sunroof - leaking water near sunvisor

My Passat B7 has started leaking water into the car interior near the sunvisor screw on the driver's side.
I was pretty sure it was coming through the sunroof, and probably because the sunroof drains were not draining properly.
So I bought a sunroof drain cleaner brush and pushed it down both drains at the front corners of the sunroof, but it's still happening. Any thoughts?

Those sunroof brush things (long steel wire with little bristles attached to one end) can be problematic because if you aren't very careful you can dislodge the rubber pipes off the sunroof drains which then allows the water to enter the roof cavity. I suspect this might be what has happened here.......either you have dislodged them or perhaps you have ripped/punctured the drain tube with the little cleaner brush.

You may need to drop the roof lining to check/repair/replace the sunroof drains becuase I cant see any other way the water is getting into your sunvisor area otherwise.

In future, clean the drains more regularly with either or a combination of the following:

    - hot water
    - plastic whipper snipper cord
    - compressed air
