    O2 sensor location

Hi, I have a O2 sensor heater circuit bank 2 sensor 2 PO161 engine check light on issue.

You could disconnect the passenger one and then see if it's still a bank2 sensor 2 code?
It's always better to replace o2 sensors in pairs though.

Funny this is posted as I have had a sensor 1 issue for a couple of years. The light goes away but it came back on a couple of days ago!! I got quoted something like $700 to replace. I laughed at that quote and haven't worried about it but I might have to do something this time. Like eirobahn5, I couldn't work out which side was what!!

Hi Snerlo, I found out bank 2 is passenger side (if applicable) and sensor 2 is post (after) cat converter. I sourced a Bosch sensor for $130+GST. I plan to replace it today...

Great work mate. I noticed that my engine light has gone off again this morning!! Can't work it out! Anyhow, thanks for letting me know which side is bank 2. Where did you get the sensor from if I may ask? Also, did you end up doing the work yourself? If so, was it hard? And also, is sensor 1 going to be a real pain in the butt as it is closer to the engine etc? Sorry for all the questions mate!

Have you got access to a scan tool, cos that's how I found out which of my four sensors was causing the problem. I bought it off one of my usual suppliers (same as ATE supplier). I needed a wheel balance so whilst at my local JAX I asked them to swap over the sensor.
The sensor I got was Bosch but it wasn't a direct plug n play, it came with two plugs and the correct one had to be wired up, but all in all a straight forward procedure they said, wasn't too $$ at all. So now I'm happy, no more warning light and I can zoom up over 140km/hr with no vibration which will be good for the drags in a couple of weeks !

I had it scanned a couple of years ago and I think I have it still somewhere so I can find out which side etc. My light has now come back on again!! I think it has something to do with the slightly colder weather as of late!! Anyhow, will do something about it soon I think. What was the $ for it?
