mechatronic hydraulic pump: 006079 play protection

My 2012 MY2013 118TSI passat wagon with a 7 speed DSG transmission is now throwing a fault on the transmission hydraulic pump. There is also a blinking spanner on top of the gear indicator in the MFD (comes on after driving about 5km).

The DSG seems to function normally, and I've booked in for a service next week. Am wondering if I should be concerned and need to take it in immediately?

I replaced the battery due to a failed cell last week, so am wondering if it could have been related to that. The battery measured 10v and it was hard to start the car.

Also, there was a lot of talk a year or two ago about the warranty for the transmission being extended to 5years / 150k km, but information about this on the VW website seems to have disappeared? Is it still honored?

There was some updates carried out on the transmission regarding this fault, probably worth contacting VW about.

Ok, just had the car in for inspection. Apparently it's unsafe to drive until it's fixed, but they will cover 100% parts and labor. Don't know the details of the repair yet.
