How do you remove the arm rest?

How do you remove the arm rest?

I've remove the back panel below the back cigarette lighter socket and the two screws and it would appear that I could pull it back but I don't want to break anything.
I want to run a usb cable up into the armrest so any help in taking the arm rest apart etc would be greatly apreciated

You'll need to pull the whole centre console out or at least lift it up.
Remove the two side trim pieces alongside the seats (one screw each in the footwell, then put the seats back and there should be another screw there I think, then pull the trim piece down.
    Remove stereo and climatronics trims.
Remove 2 screws just below the bottom 2 screws of the radio, these hold the centre console at the front.
Remove rear panel vents by pulling the piece up, unplug electrical connectors.
2x 10mm nuts hold the rear of the centre console to the transmission tunnel.
Remove trim around gear selector by prying up. Remove coin tray, 2 screws in the bottom of it. Unplug electrical connector for the gear selector, move the trim piece up and around the shifter.
You can then lift the back of the centre console up and prop it up to run a cable underneath by pushing through from the hole where the climatronics panel sits.

I've removed the centre console to try and locate a rattle that ended up being in the arm rest lid! As kamold describes, there are a lot of steps to take not helped in my case by having to deal with a lot of wiring from the Bluetooth module that was stuffed behind the Climatronics.... The fiddliest bit in my case was taking the gear selector trim off in order to lift the console over the gear lever. Also you may need to disconnect the rear vent tubes that run underneath the console. It a big job. Good luck!
