    Engine code water pump

    Hi
I’ve started getting the orange engine warning light come up. Code p261a refers to coolant pump B open circuit. I’ve been getting this intermittently.
Vw 2009 Passat tdi with 140k on the clock. Time for timing belt and water pump???

    Thanks in advance
    Mike

    Engine code water pump

Thanks. I assumed it was but was hopeful it may just be a lose wire/sensor if it’s intermittent.

I just had a quote through AutoGuru for $1350 ?? Bit steep.
    Suggestions for north brisbane service?

If it’s saying the pump is open circuit it must be talking about an electric auxiliary pump rather than the mechanical pump at the front of the motor.
