EPB decided to not disengage this morning.
Restarted the car and it released ok.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar fault and could confirm that simply replacing the control module resolved it?

    Thanks

My EPB would not disengage on my 07 Passat a few years ago while in a shopping center car park, called the RAA as I knew it would need a tow. They send out a chap to first inspect the car, asked where my fuses are, I opened my drivers side door, opened that panel, open the passenger side door, open that panel then open the bonnet to show the fuses there, which ones do you want I asked? Very shortly after that he arranged for a tow. Mine simple needed a new EPB, but I was told that later models also require a computer upgrade for the EPB program.

Pop the button out, and look at the part number on it.

If it ends in BREH, replace it with the superceded part and see how you go.

Thanks Umai Naa, its a 3C0927225B.

I've ordered a new switch, and a superceding EPB module 3AA907801J.
Hopefully it can stay together until parts arrive from OS, as I wasn't prepared to pay $1k for the module and $116 for the switch...I'll take out some roadside assistance though just in case.

I had this issue and the new switch fixed it.

But if you drive off with it on it releases automatically anyways.

The fault codes concern me, so I think I'll do both. Although the control module is under the centre console which is apparently a big job to remove. Will do the switch as soon as it arrives.

Definitely do the switch first, clear the codes, and see how you go.

I think I've only ever come across one where the switch didn't completely fix it, but it was real early B6.

Thanks will do. Have a second hand controller coming from a CC so will use that if needed, didn't break the bank.

I've got a similar intermittent problem. How do you pop the button out?

Pull the end cover off the dash, and push it out from the back.
