Thank you guys for the explanation. I really thought that the dry gearbox was used only in small/lighter car, such as Golf. I bought this car only 2 weeks ago (still have warranty).

How faith is... I was arriving home, my wife call me saying that she was parking in the garage and at some point she couldn't move after she heard a weird noise. I went there to see what was happening and a tool was flashing in the MFD. I scanned with VCDS and came up these error:

I assume it's ****ed up? Probable yes.

It's a 2011, so... there is no more warranty from the Volkswagen, but should I tow to a VW dealership and try an extension of warranty or any support from VW? The previous owner replaced the clutches around 30.000km on warranty, did all services on VW dealership and this problem appears to be well known by VW.

I am sorry to divert the topic, but I have no idea what do next!

And this is exactly why you shouldn't buy a 7 speed DSG as was discussed in this thread.

If you've bought the car from a used car dealer you should have some statutory warranty. I'd be talking to the car yard you purchased the vehicle through first before taking it to VW. The end result may be to take it to VW but the Used car yard should be paying for the repairs not you.

Best to start a separate thread so as not to take this one too off-topic. But yes if you're buying a second-hand car then you don't want to do this.

We told you but you knew better Read the number of posts that some have put on here and realise there is a wealth of experience withmultiple models. If they tell you something is bad it usually is as you have found out

Also there is little point in asking for advice about buying a car AFTER you have bought it

This. Statutory warranty should absolutely apply.

No, the DQ200 was used in the Passat as well - it's more about the ability of the gearbox to handle engine torque than the weight of the vehicle - the DQ200 is designed to handle 250nm.

Now now, be nice. Iran wasn't looking to buy - he's in this thread asking about the DSG. The OP (Northkit) is the one looking for prepurchase advice.

It may not in this case as Iran lives in another country so may not have the same legal recourse as in Australia.

He has bought the car already yes, but he's here asking about what he should do about his (potentially) broken transmission, as opposed to looking for advice about whether or not to buy the vehicle.

Iran is also presumably a different person to the original poster Northkit, who is looking for buying advice. Perhaps you have the two confused?

He hasn't, actually - there are two valid spellings of Brazil - both are correct and both can be used interchangeably. In fact if anything, 'Brasil' is probably more correct than 'Brazil'.
