Haha that's awesome! Hoping to get one sometime before the end of the year.

Plus they sound awesome when the exhaust is freed up a bit.
What you say about the exhaust on a 3.2L is both interesting and encouraging. My only experience listening to modified exhausts is via YouTube clips. Not the most reliable way of hearing it accurately!

On the YouTube clips I've listened to, the R36 3.6L engine with a modified exhaust sounds deep and throaty suggesting lots of power. The 3.2L sounds higher-pitched and a bit thin and raspy. To me it sounds like a smaller car such as a Golf and I was wondering if it would sound out of place on the larger Passat. For example:

From experience, they sound pretty much the same, straight out the join in the centre section

Perhaps keep an eye out for someone offloading a stock R36 exhaust system.
