B7 PASSAT STATION WAGON 2014 - Major oil leaks

Short History.

Had car since new. 160,000km

10 weeks ago - mechatronic failure - towed to dealer, $4200 later fixed.

5 weeks ago - oil on driveway. Off to dealer - needed new oil sump pan. Done / Dusted. At this point we decided to work on selling and upgrading (just need time - both busy professionals)

1 weeks ago - new oil on driveway. Cleaned engine bay, monitored by each morning new spots. Back to dealer this week, diagnosis (leaks):

Oil cap $52
Cam sensor seal $229
PCV Leak $485
Alternator Bracket / oil cooler $1742
Crankshaft Seal $430
Upper timing cover leak $496

Holy smokes - we almost fainted.

So - do oil leak solutions really work?

They work by making rubber seals swell up, they may stop it for a bit if you have compressed o-rings or hard old gaskets.
They can not fix cracked or torn gaskets\seal and can cause other problems. Would not recommend oil leak stop products.

Onto your oil leak issue, sound like the dealer wants to replace every possible place oil could be coming from, I think getting another quote from an independent shop might be a good idea.
