    B7 Passat services

So I am looking around for a 2011 onwards passat for the wife.
What are peoples thoughts on regular services documented, however
the last one was at 53k, almost 2 years ago. The 60k with gearbox service hasn't been done
and the car now sits at around 67k. Owner has said will get the service done when I pointed
this out. BTW this is the 6 speed dsg.

    Hi,

I would be reluctant to purchase any car with such a hole in the service history, unless is is at a giveaway price that might cover any failures. IMO a well maintained higher mileage car is better than a poorly low milage car.

There are plenty of Passat for sale at very reasonable prices. I would look elsewhere.

Passat service schedule; 12mths / 15,000km (or whichever comes first).
So theoretically it should now have had 5 services and should be at its 5yr / 75,000km service.

When you say regular services documented, it sort of indicates to me it has only had its 1, 2 & 3yr services completed.
And most likely not based on mths or Kms...

When you say 6spd DSG, are you referring to TDI or V6 FSI? (The TSI was a 7spd DSG)

I wouldn't knock it back just because one service is overdue by time. Is the earlier history ok? How many stamps? I guess the dsg etc is a bit overdue but not a lot. Brake fluid will be due too.

If it were me buying it, I wouldn't stress too much.

It's more important to know what's actually been done in the previous services. Eg, the air filter done at the 45K/3yr service, brake fluid every two years, that sort of thing.

    Sorry, looking at v6, 2011.

    Thanks all for response

Had a drive and closer look at history.
Was a bit iffy. The 1st service was dealer stamped, 2nd service had no stamp, the 3rd service was done (54k) at Kmart auto
and now at 67k (the 60k due I suppose)
From what I can determine the car was a demo and had a service when sold (5k or so)
One of the service intervals was out to almost 20k as well which is why the kms are
all out. Owner was a bit vague about it all.
Drove fine however cosmetically needs a little help
I think if the car was was a little tidier and showed
signs of being looked after a bit better could
look past the history but gut feeling says no

Yeah, probably not worth the hassle.
