    B6 towbar module

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find a second hand towbar wiring system for my MY07 Passat. I've found one that's off an earlier b6 model but the part number on the module is 8p0 907 383. This seems to come up as a mk5 golf unit. Passat listing seems to be 1ko 907 383f. I think vw gave me that number but don't sell the part anymore.
Can anyone tell me if this will work in my car?
    Thanks in advance.

The 8P0 part number was superceded in July 2006 for the 1K0 part number.
The F revision you mention is the last supersession which was released in 2010.
The 8P0 part is listed for Golf/A3.
The 1K0 revision F part is listed as Golf/Passat/Eos/Altea/Toledo/Caddy/Amarok/Jetta/Tiguan etc etc....

So 8P0 part number will POSSIBLY work, but given the choice you'd want to go with the listed latest compatible part. They become superceded for a reason.

Thanks for the info. It's handy to know it was the correct module at the time the car was made.
I posted this thread in the wrong place originally and someone has moved it for me. I did start another thread in this section that is similar to this one.
The seller on gumtree kindly traced the loom all the way through the car and cut out all the loom connectors etc so I can see how to plug it into my loom.
I haven't fitted the bar or the wiring yet so I hope it all works out.
