    B6 Passat 09g to manual 2010 swap

I just wrecked the front end of my 2006 2.0t fsi FWD Passat and it looks like I can rebuild it.

Always wanted to do a manual and now I have a donor car to rebuild my car with, and the donor car just happens to be a manual, so it seems to me that stars are aligning,

I plan on starting this weekend…

Does anyone have ANY info on this? Is it possible? Will I need to do ECU/TCM or other computer work?

Will any holes need to be cut or is structurallly everything ready to swap over?

Will I need any parts my donor car doesent have? Is it as simple as moving it all over? The donor is a 2010 manual 2.0t anyone know what the name/code of the tranny is in a 2010 manual?

Thank you! ALL help is v much appreciated as I wanna tackle this right away and anywhere you can point me as well!

Post some pictures of the damage to your car so we can see how bad it is.

I have done a few rebuilds now (just a hobby) so might have some ideas. If any of our members are actually panel beaters they may have some useful tips too.

There will almost certainly be some coding required unless you manage to transfer over all the important modules from the donor, including the cluster, ECU, ignition and all locks etc etc etc.

Okay thanks for the reply, I can’t see how to add a picture,

But sounds like coding would definitely be easier than swapping over all the modules.

Coding should be easy enough, I know a guy who says he thinks he knows how to code all that, and even then I’m pretty good with VCDS myself so should be fine I’m thinking…
