Anybody had trouble with the boot opener?

The rocking-VW-badge boot opening switch is starting to play up. Sometimes takes 2 or 3 attempts to make it work. The button on the remote works every time. Has anyone had a similar problem? Was a replacement part or just an adjustment required to fix it?

    Could be a faulty badge.

Could also be broken wires in the harness as it passes from the body into the bootlid. Seen that one a few times on these.

Thanks Umai Naa!! I appreciate your help. I'll try to verify which it's most likely to be by holding the boot lid very still whilst moving the badge.

I assume the badge must be replaced from the inside with the lining removed or lifted?
