Not sure on the engine in the alltrack. If it's a gen 3 then it's worth trying VW for a good will fix. (1.8 with IS12 turbo) post up your engine code which will help with getting the correct information.
Hi guys. I've got myself a 2014 Alltrack with a water pump leak. After some advice on recommended parts and approximate costs. I've found a Gates kit #KP25649XS-1 for $600 which I can handle but my current mechanic is claiming that VW have told them 8-10 hours labour to install which seems a bit excessive to me. Curious as to what others have paid to have their water pump/timing belts replaced and approximately how long it took as I suspect my mechanic is trying to bend me over.

Hi
Done timing belt and water pump replacement after my pump gone on 95k. After 1250$ and all day work i got my car. They took engine out in order to replace all parts. Demanding and not easy job at all.

I wonder how they replaced taming belt and water pump without taking engine out. Water pump is not accessible at all. Timing belt alone is big job. Someone correct me if i wrong...

Well according to the workshop manual I have for the Passat B7 You remove some inner guard covers, the grooved belt, the timing cover and belt and undo 3 bolts and the water pump is sort of top left on front of block Best described as the top nearest pulley to the front of the vehicle
