    2010 R36 drivers seat heater

Just wondered if anyone else has encounter a problem with their seat heater?

On the drivers seat only the base gets warm, not the back. Is it possibly as simple as a broken wire or something disconnected?

Mine are the opposite in the front, only the lumbar gets warm and near the bolsters which almost burn my thighs when higher than 2. I think the previous owners kids may have stood or jumped on the seats, something the manual specifically recommends not doing.

As for a fix, I'm not sure. I don't know if anyone here has attempted a heater repair, although a number of people have had the side bolsters re-stuffed

I'd firstly try just unplugging and reconnecting the harness under the seat.
Beyond that you're looking at doing continuity tests on the heater elements to determine if one is faulty. If it is you could just try dismantling the seat to try and find the break and repair it.
Non trivial job but if you have the time and inclination it won't cost anything...

This is interesting. I believe I've only ever felt heat on the base of the driver's seat with my all-leather seats. I just assumed that's all there is. Now I'll have to check the passenger seat as well.
