    2009 Passat Boot struts

I've got a 2009 Passat sedan and the boot no longer flips open, it will open when you click the remote, but won't raise. I'm guessing the struts need replacing? Is this a tricky job? And I'm guessing the struts ain't cheap?

I replaced the gas struts on my old Mk V Jetta, parts sourced from ECS tuning.

Also try lubricating the hinges, this may help free up the motion.

I replaced the struts on the hatch my Polo GTI recently. Search for the Gas Strut Guy on EBay I think it was or Gumtree. Cost about $37.00 for the pair delivered. Very easy to remove and fit. A mate recommends them as well.
