Hi Guys, My son own a Passat and he get his driving belt that exploded. I installed a new one for him. After I restarted the engine, I headed under to replace the wheel and the plastics around it. I noticed some clear liquid leaking under. A drop every 5 seconds was going on the floor. I tried to find by odore what it was. It was looking like oily but clear liquid. I found that my secondary pump was leaking. I ordered a new one and after I installed it, I primed the two pumps by unconnected the electrical connectors and powered the pumps directly with an external 12V. I ran both pumps for 30 seconds, three times. After that, I reconnected all electrical connectors and tried to crank the car but nothing... I do not have any VW computer (VCDS or VAC COM) to connect, just a small code reader. I checked with a multimeter that during cranking, no power was provided to either pump. I ran manually the secondary pump with my external 12V and let it run while I moved to crank the car and the engine started. It starts. I ran just a bit as I don't want to run dry as I was only using the fuel present in the filter (as the main fuel pump was not running). I check fuses and all seems OK, power arrive at fuse 28, only thing I have not been able to do is check the relay. Any tip to test the relays ? Or any explanation why the computer would not power the two pumps ? I just find strange both pumps are not powered... Any help ? I have someone that will come with a VW computer next week but if I can get that car back to my son, it will save us a lot of money
