FOR SALE *1990 GOLF GTI 8v*

Just seeing if there’s any interest in my 1990 Golf GTI 8v as I would like to move on to something different. It’s Rare 4 door big bumper model, one of around 150 8v Mk2s imported to Australia by Volkswagen. Turns heads everywhere you drive it. Sits low on coil overs all round with 16" BBS RS Replicas. It is fitted with tinted rear lights off of the Rallye Model, Sony head unit and aftermarket remote central locking and immobilizer. Also has an aftermarket exhaust which sounds excellent.


The car is in good over all condition, with just over 185 000kms. Paint is in good condition for age, with just a few chips here and there. Front wheel arches have some cracks on the inside as they are made of plastic. The interior is also in good condition for age. Dash has 2 cracks in it which is to be expected with older cars and there is a small tear in the driver’s seat. There are also holes cut in the back door cards by a previous owner presumably to fit speakers. Engine is still strong gearbox and clutch still feel fantastic.


It has always run on 98 and has been regularly serviced. I have spent a lot of money on it in the past year replacing the Airflow meter, Sparkplug leads, Coolant temp sensor and the Fuel pressure regulator as well as a brand new starter motor to get it running smoothly and economically.

It will be sold with the “GTIMK2” personalised plates, as well the set of standard wheels and some other spare parts.

All in all it is a brilliant car but I feel it’s time to move on and let someone else take over. I’m looking for $6500
