    Mk5 GTI 2008 - black, 5 door - $8,500

2008 VW Golf GTI MkV 5 door, black.
    6-speed DSG.
    172,100km
    Rego until September 2018.
    RWC check was done today:
New front discs and pads done. Pendulum mount replaced, castor blocks were done earlier this year. Will have a new windscreen in the next few days and proper RWC will be provided with the car when sold.

Asking $8,500 for forum members. Carsales has it listed at $9,500.

Black exterior. Usual wear and tear and a couple of small dents along driver's side roof line. Left side doors are really good, right side has some carpark damage. Wheels have some scuffing. Could do with a re-spray but I’ve never had any such repairs done on the car – what you see is what you get.
Full black leather interior in very good condition.
Stage 1 GIAC tune, 3” CTS downpipe, 2.75” GTI Pirelli exhaust. Great acceleration and nice sound but not too loud at freeway speed – still good for transporting children!
I haven’t cleaned the engine bay so inspection will show that there isn’t anything to worry about in there.
Bridgestone Potenza RE003 tyres all around – decent tread remaining. Also comes with two Maxxis tyres with 90% tread or more (not too old to use again). Spare (space-saver) tyre has never been used.
WhispBar aero racks with all original keys and various mounting accessories as provided at time of purchase.
Original car keys (x 2), both working. New battery in one of the keys today.
All lights working and headlights & fog lamps have true white globes. Various spare globes will also be included, as I generally buy them in pairs and keep the old ones that still work.
NOTE: child seat and protective cover on passenger seat will not be included.

    Full service history.
Regularly serviced at dealer by previous owners until I bought it 3 years old with 30,000km on the clock.
Subsequently serviced at Volkwerke (Greensborough & Doncaster), Prestige Auto (Airport West) and Volkshome (Thomastown).
Last serviced at 170,000km, next due 6/4/19 or 185,000km. New rear brake pads, new castor blocks installed. DSG can be rough but I am assured that it will not break and further repairs are not necessary as the cost can't be justified given the car's value. The DSG was last serviced on 4/5/17.
Factory recall 45F2 (ABS unit) completed at Bayford VW Epping 24/1/18.

I love this car, and I’ve enjoyed driving it since I bought it in 2012 (oh, and I’ve never turned off the ESC…). I’ve done over 140,000km in it and loved every minute of those 6 years. I’m selling because it’s time to buy a new Golf R wagon – I’m sure you’ll understand!
I live just north of Epping and I’m currently on leave from work for a few weeks, so I can accommodate inspections pretty much any time.

PM me with any expressions of interest or questions I haven’t covered.

I'd love to see this car go to a happy home - or at least to someone who'll use it (or parts of it) for a project.

Within 2 hours of being listed on carsales I had a call from someone prepared to buy it unseen for $6-7k with no RWC. I'm holding off because it didn't sound entirely legit - who buys a car sight unseen based on Redbook value alone?

I'm under orders to sell it before I put my deposit down on an ex-demo Grid Edition R wagon - although I'm struggling to comply with the Minister's directions on that one!

Please tell me if I'm dreaming - whether or not you want to make an offer. I rely on this forum often for expert advice, so your input is appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Emerson
