Lets put this out there, what reasonable price do people believe I should be selling my baby for? Happy to listen to why? Thanks, Peter.

Tuesday evening bump, may be taking it to the Churchill Monthly Mega Meet, depending on the weather.

I have no idea about the price but from previous experience accessories / tuning don't add to the value (and sometimes detract). People think that if you've "hotted it up" that you are thrashing the daylights out of it. I realise this isn't usually the case but most people are fairly ignorant on most things automotive.

If it was me, I'd part out all the easy stuff like the intake and on the carsguide ad say nothing about the tune or the exhaust. I once sold a Falcon with a Holley, extractors & a 2" twin system to a guy that wanted a car for his daughter. As far as he was concerned it just had a burbly exhaust.

If you need more ground clearance but don't need AWD then get the tall springs installed & fit 225/50r17 tyres.

Morning Brad, I have to agree with you, trouble is, some of the extras are stuck to the car, the car bra has Velcro tabs take hold it in place, pull take them off, good luck on finding glue to hold them back in place. Performance tune is made for my S/S 3" exhaust and APR intake, can not sell one, with out the other. Hardest part to find, was the warning triangle and bracket that fits to the boot lid, chances are, you break a clip trying to get it off, even if you do, you are left with holes in the boot lid cover. I did enquire about a trade in on a new VW from the same place I brought it from, hard to swallow a $18,000 lost on the car that I brought from them around 5 years ago. The way things are going, most likely keep the car, was looking a Passat Alltrack, would really love a 4 wheel drive, auto, T5, but those prices are just making it a dream for now. Thanks, Peter.

Hi Peter, be patient. Some 2 years or so ago, I've sold our MK5 TDI Golf for money I wanted on there. It took me 3 months and only one buyer came to see the car. You're right about the extras, leave them on, most likely they wouldn't fit to your new car.

I agree. Eventually the right buyer will come.

I think the wording of the ad in carsguide is not helping either. Also get rid of the photo of the airfilter and put some more in of the car itself.

Thank you for the feedback, plan to wash the car tomorrow since we should have a few good days here in Adelaide, will take some more photos and reword the add. Peter.

just my 2 cents if you are looking for feedback; your advert doesn't make you appear to be a motivated seller...

referring to this statement "if I do not get a reasonable offer, will just keep it, it owes me no cash, no finance on it, so I will just keep washing, polishing and waxing it"...

if was considering the vehicle i'd be thinking the guy doesn't sound like he really wants to sell it...

Here's your new ad including spelling fixes - WTF is a "wind defector"? . I'd also suggest you revise your price a little bit as it's way above Redbook. As an indicator I have a 2007 Octavia that cost me $32k - I reckon it's worth about $7k now - at a guess, the Passat is worth $14k.

Volkswagen Passat Sedan. 2008 update model built 2007.
125kw 2.0L diesel with DSG automatic transmission- gets 1000km between fills.
Very low kilometres for age - less than 100,000km on the odometer.
The vehicle has been regularly serviced, tuned and maintained by one of the best Volkswagen specialists in Adelaide and goes much better than most Passats.
It has also recently had a new battery & 4 premium quality tyres fitted.

I'm a car enthusiast and have fitted many factory options and accessories you won't find on other Passats.
    Sunroof with optional wind deflector
LED daytime running lights with integrated fog lights
    Rear window blind
    Bonnet & headlight protectors
Car bra to keep the bugs off on trips to the country
Chrome highlight pack (grille, mirrors & door handles)
    Mud spats
Factory cargo net & safety warning triangle (imported from Germany)

This car has been washed & waxed on a regular basis and looks as good as the day it left the showroom.

The Passat is a pleasure to own & drive but unfortunately my circumstances require me to have a vehicle with a significantly more ground clearance.
